Rolf Sinnemark

When Rolf talks about glass, his whole face lights up.  You can see the excitement in his eyes and the words just bubble forth when he says, "Glass is a fascinating development material.  You can do so much with it.  First, when I get an idea, I wonder if it is possible to do it.  I picture it with the layers of color combinations that I have chosen.  Then, when I instruct a profesional glassblower to blow the glass and it forms the way I envisioned it, the feeling is magic!"

                      Rolf lives and breathes his work.  Often he gets his biggest inspiration from his favorite pastime - fly fishing.  He sets aside one week a year to go fly fishing in either northern Sweden or in the United States with best friend and famous American glassblower, Joel Philip Meyers.  Nature and life are Rolf’s biggest inspirations.

                      Recently, one of Rolf’s stemware designs was nominated as Stockholm’s 750th anniversary celebration stemware and will become the official stemware in the near future.  He has also designed one-meter high candelabras for the celebratory dining room at Stockholms City Hall.

                      Rolf is a man full of energy - all the commissions from glassworks, ceramic companies, museums, cities, and organizations are not enough to keep him busy!  He has started his own art glass studio where he is currently producing graal vases and bowls with Wilke Adolfsson, Scandinavia’s best glassblower, according to many other master glassblowers in the field.
