Sherry glasses are usually small, narrow stemmed glasses with a wider rim than a cordial glass.
Ideal for liqueurs and apertifs. Sherry glass sizes vary from about 2 ounces (6 cl) up to 5 ounces (15 cl).
Sherry is a fortified wine from the Andalucia region of Spain. The name "sherry" came from the town
Jerez best known for its Sherry. Fortified means that alcohol is added to the wine. Hundreds of years ago,
brandy was added to the wine to keep it stable during ocean voyages.
Sherry can be served with dessert, cheese, and so forth. There are two main types of sherry:
dry and sweet. Dry sherries should be served chilled and sweet sherries should be served room temperature.
The shape of the Sherry glass helps to keep the sherry chilled much like a flute glass does for champagne.
